This Running Nelson Gag design has the addition of Fixed Cheeks that extend both above and below the bit’s mouthpiece. These do not make the bit any more severe but are beneficial by helping to keep the mouthpiece central within the mouth and preventing it from being pulled adversely from side to side. They also aid steering and so control of the horse by placing contact upon the horses face activated by the opposing reins contact.
