NB we define the bit width of a Swales as the width of the mouthpiece inside of the inner rings and not the length of the mouthpiece from cheek to cheek. This is the effective width of the mouthpiece as far as your horse is concerned. The inner rings are approx. 1/4" diameter each. So for example a 5 1/2" swales would measure 6" between the cheeks. |

Arch Mouth Swales 3 in 1
£90.00This Swales has a stainless steel arched mouth to give the horse more tongue room. This is a standard guage mouth of 14mm. We also offer thinner mouth piece options in both stainless steel and sweet iron (plus some limited copper options).

Copper Mouth Swales 3 in 1
£100.00Swales with Copper Mouth (SP 10)
We can produce our bits with copper mouths. This is softer than our stainless steel mouths but can be attractive to the horse. The swales has 2 distinctive rings free to rotate around the mouth piece to which the bridle headpiece and the snaffle reins are attached. The curb effect works on the bars of the mouth and also on the curb groove.
